Thomas M Knapp Obituary (1942

Hastings resident Thomas "Tom" M. Knapp, 73, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home. Funeral services are 11:00am, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the All Saints Chapel at Good Samaritan Society in Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings, Nebraska. Thomas M. Knapp was born April 19, 1942 in Prescott, Iowa, the son of Edgar and Florence (Hargan) Knapp. Tom graduated from Prescott High School with the class of 1960. He moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Hastings in 1977 and was a co-owner of Hastings Battery & Electric. Tom worked for Thermal King and Walmart in Hastings and retired in July of 2014. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his dogs; Teddy, Inky and Dusty. Tom is survived by His wife, Gloria Knapp of Hastings, NE; four daughters, Rachel Bell and her husband Roger of Omaha, NE, Denise DiRamio and her husband Victor of Port Charlotte, FL, Kathleen Knapp of Lincoln, NE, and Melissa Knapp of Hastings, NE; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Marsden and her husband Ken of Red Oak, IA, and Patsy Knapp of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Dianne Sovis of Minneapolis, MN; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren.
