Lincoln resident Ralph "Billy" W. Davis Sr., 71, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. Memorial service is 10:00am, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at The Falls, 5925 Adams Street. Viewing and visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Friday, February 15, 2013 at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont Street, Lincoln. Memorials may be given to his family. . Billy was born November 30, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Harry I. and Beatrice O. (Gwillams) Davis. He left school at the 9th grade from Whittier Jr. High School and went to work delivering telegrams for Western Union; he then worked as a car detailer for Duteau Chevrolet. Billy married Elaine P. Morgan on November 17, 1962. He joined the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in October 1966. Billy worked as a Night Foreman for Capital Bridge & Steel and retired after 40 years on March 31, 2006. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and pretty much anything outdoors. Billy loved to build things and overhauled whatever he could get his hands on. Billy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine of Lincoln; daughter, Candy Chrastil and her husband Steve; three sons, Henry "Hank" Davis and Tony Johnson of Lincoln, Ralph Davis Jr. and his girlfriend Delisa of Buffalo, Kansas, and Troy Davis and his wife Michelle of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Ohlschwager and her husband Don of Lincoln, and Rose Starkel and her husband Larry of Lake Ozark, Missouri; two brothers, Ron Davis of Princeton, Missouri, and Raymond Davis and his wife Carol of Ryegate, Montana; sister-in-law, Linda Corning of Lake Ozark, Missouri; special friend, Leon Ondrak of Monroe, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jonathon; granddaughter, Michelle; and two brothers, Charles Davis and Butch Corning.
