Marvin R. (Buzz) Hiatt Obituary (1930

Hastings resident Marvin (Buzz) R. Hiatt, 84, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society All Saints Chapel with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. In honoring his wishes for cremation there is no viewing or visitation. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements. Buzz was born January 26, 1930 in Arlington, Nebraska, the son of Vern and Laura (Colburn) Hiatt. He attended school in Superior and Hastings. Buzz married Lavonne Sadd, they were married 22 years and had 5 children. He married Marjorie McNinch on June 5, 1970 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Buzz worked for Equity Grain bins for 33 years and ESU-9 for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge 28, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Chapparrals. Buzz enjoyed coffee with friends, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Buzz is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Wanda, Timothy, Linda, Colleene, Collette, Michael, Ramona, Barbara and their families, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene, and Dwaine and their families; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Phyllis, Linda, and Eunice.
