Leonardo G Martinez

Lincoln resident, Leonardo G. Martinez, 75, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed by the service which begins at 1 PM, Monday, October 8, 2012 at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont Street, Lincoln, with Father Grant (Memo) officiating. Memorials may be given to his family. Leonardo was born November 6, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Asencion P. Martinez and Josefina G Gamez. He grew up in Texas where he was a field worker. Leo moved to Alliance, Nebraska where he worked for the local co-op. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. His hobbies included building model kit cars and he was talented at singing and playing the harmonica. Leonardo is survived by his daughter, Rita Reyes and her husband Enrique of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 7 sisters; and 2 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents; Asencion P. Martinez and Josefina G. Gamez, wife, Eva; two sons, Leonardo Jr., and Ricardo; one brother; and one sister.
