Kerry W Turner Obituary (1938

Hastings resident Kerry W. Turner, 78, passed away Wednesday December 7, 2016 at his home. Private family service will be held at a later date. In honor of his wish to be cremated there is no viewing, visitation. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Hastings Public Library. Kerry W. Turner was born September 25, 1938 in North Loup, Nebraska, the son of Gerald and Carol (Stude) Turner. He graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1956. Kerry served in the U.S. Army. He married Nancy Daugherty on February 14, 1968 in Hastings, Nebraska. Kerry was the owner and operator of Turner Brothers Painting Contractors. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, and Eagles Club in Hastings, Nebraska. He enjoyed horse races, Dixieland Jazz, and the Chicago Cubs. Kerry is survived by his wife, Nancy of Hastings, NE; children, Wayne R. (Sonia) Turner of Tacoma, WA, Michelle "Mikki" (Thomas) Dodson of Giltner, NE, Scott E. (Tami) Turner, Kevin G. (Amanda) Turner, and Eric J. Turner all of Hastings, NE; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother, Terrill (Eileen) Turner of Plano, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane Woolley.
