Juleen L. Young Obituary (1942

Hastings resident Juleen L. Young, 71, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society Perkins Pavilion in Hastings. Funeral Service will be 10:00am Friday, November 28, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Dunbar officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at DeWitt Funeral Home in Hastings. Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church or Aseracare Hospice. Juleen L. Young was born December 10, 1942 in Hebron, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Krenke) Schardt. She grew up in rural Deshler, Nebraska and graduated from Deshler High School. Juleen lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Idaho Springs, Colorado before settling in Hastings in 1975. She married Howard Simonton in August 1962 in Hebron, Nebraska, they later separated. Juleen married Kenneth Young on November 15, 1975 in Hastings, Nebraska. She worked at Russ's Market as General Merchandise Manager before retiring in 2005. Juleen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings. Juleen is survived by her husband, Kenneth Young of Hastings; two sons, Dana Simonton and his wife Sharyn of Las Vegas, NV, and Eric Young and his wife Cecilia of Manzanola, CO; three granddaughters, Samantha Simonton, Amanda Simonton, both of Las Vegas, NV, and Brittany Adams of Ft. Collins, CO; brother, Harlan Schardt and his wife Helen; sister, Elaine O'Neal all of Hebron, NE; brother-in-law, Gordon Young and his wife Sharon of Cheney, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
