Johanna E. Jungert Obituary (1929

Hastings resident Johanna E. Jungert, 83, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Haven Home in Kenesaw, Nebraska. Johanna was born January 31, 1929 in Heartwell, Nebraska, the daughter of Godfrey and Addie (McPherson) Torske. She attended school in Heartwell, Nebraska. Johanna married Leland Jungert on April 1, 1957 in Lincoln, NE they moved to Juniata in 1963 and lived there for many years. She worked at Hastings College in food service for 20 years. Johanna is survived by her Son, David Jungert and his wife Pat of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Kim Douglas and her husband Paul of Juniata; two granddaughters, Kelli Prior and her husband Aaron of Lincoln, NE and Nichole Shafer and her husband John of Hastings; four great grandsons, Titus, Kolbe, Kale, and Seth Shafer; sister Eloise Waechter and her husband Ken of Colorado; two brothers, Jerry Torske and his wife Karin of Holstein, Neb., and Jim Torske and his wife Sharon of Wichita, Kan.; two sister-in-laws, Doris Torske of Wichita, KS, and Faye Torske of Blue Hill, NE; She was a very special beloved "Aunt Jo" to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leland Jungert; sister, Betty Cook and her husband Fred; two brothers, Robert and Nels Torske. Visitation Schedule In honoring Johanna's wishes to be cremated there will be no viewing or visitation. Service Private family services will be held at a later date.
