Memorial Service will be at 10:00 Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. The family encourages those in attendance to wear colors representing Jeff's favorite team, the Seahawks.

Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation.

Jeff was born on November 18th, 1961, in Hastings, Nebraska to Lee and Nancy (Swanson) Beach. He attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1980. Growing up, he played legion baseball and had the honor of playing in the Shrine Football game his senior year. Jeff met his wife Tricia at a family barbeque in 1978, and it was love at first sight. They were united in marriage on August 7th, 1982. For their honeymoon, they traveled to Colorado by motorcycle, something Jeff loved to do. In 1984, they purchased their lifelong home before welcoming their son Derek in October of 1984 and later their daughter Courtney in February of 1987. While Tricia worked full time in the evenings, Jeff took care of the kids, playing Nintendo and basketball and watching WWE wrestling and Monday Night Football. Jeff was an excellent dad, providing and supporting the kids' activities throughout high school and beyond. He maintained his love of sports by coaching youth baseball and football. Once the kids had graduated, Jeff and Tricia took as many trips as Tricia could plan. They enjoyed cruises, exploring many countries and visited almost all 50 states. He eventually caught the travel bug and started asking, “Where are we going next?”

When he wasn’t traveling, Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, drinking Old Milwaukee, watching the Seattle Seahawks and playing pool, darts, and keno. 4th of July was his favorite holiday for the fireworks and time spent around the firepit. He loved grilling and making homemade ice cream, cookies, bread pudding, and French toast.

Jeff worked as a maintenance mechanic at Thermo King for 45 years. He was a thoughtful problem solver and wanted to do the job right the first time. He was a dedicated employee, but was known for never working a Friday the 13th and using every day of vacation to spend time doing things he loved.

Jeff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a humble man of few words, but made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was slow to anger and never took himself too seriously. Jeff embodied toughness, discipline, and an old-school stoicism. And while those things were genuine and present, they were an outer layer to a kind, loving, selfless man. He will be deeply missed.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 43 years, Tricia (Burgess) Beach; Son, Derek Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney (Beach) McCarty and Andrew McCarty; and grandchildren, Emerson Beach (8), Pierce McCarty (6), and Crew McCarty (5); sister, Cindy (Beach) Eberspacher and her spouse, Kurt Eberspacher; along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and close friends

Jeff was preceded in death by all 4 grandparents; his parents, Lee and Nancy Beach; brother, Bruce Beach; and father and mother-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Burgess.
