Jeanette Rose (Spangenberg) Adrian

Hastings resident Jeanette Rose (Spangenberg) Adrian, 79, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society Perkins Pavilion in Hastings.

Funeral service will be 10:00am, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at French Memorial Chapel on the Hastings College Campus with Pastor Charles Webster officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, January 30, 2014 at DeWitt Funeral Home in Hastings.

Memorials may be given to Hastings College Gilbert Adrian Biology Scholarship or Multiple Myeloma cancer research.

Jeanette Rose (Spangenberg) Adrian was born August 19, 1935 in Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of Robert Starr and Iva Marie (Carlson) Spangenberg. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School with the class of 1952 and attended Hastings College. Jeanette married Cliff North in September 1954, they divorced in 1961. She married Gilbert L. Adrian in December 1962.

Jeanette played the violin in the Hastings Symphony Orchestra for 40 years. She worked at the Hastings College Bronco Bookstore and as Director of Office Services at Hastings College before retiring in 1998. Jeanette was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Hastings College Faculty Women's Club, Friday Knitters, along with volunteering for several years at Mary Lanning Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling and most of all, spending time with her family.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Debra Vorderstrasse and her husband Jason; three sons, Brent Adrian and his wife Tracy all of Hastings, Nebraska, Brad Adrian of Kearney, Nebraska, and Brian Adrian and his wife Shelly of San Diego, California; daughter-in-law, Deb Mancini Adrian; seven grandchildren, Dan Adrian, Chris Adrian, Adrian Allard, Braxton Adrian, Drake Vorderstrasse, Brayden Adrian, and Brody Adrian; four step-grandchildren, Nicole, Kelsie, Miranda, and Kayla; four great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Levi, River, and Indyleigh; and step great grandson, Johnny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Robert North Adrian.
