Jason William Vetzel

Jason “Jay” William Vetzel, 47, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be held at a later date in Florida.
Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation.
Jay was born September 21, 1978, in Dunedin, Florida to Carl and Dawne (Streit) Vetzel. He graduated from Gulf High School in New Port Richey, Florida and Florida State University, receiving his degree in Physics and Chemical Science. Jay worked for Reliable Horsepower (Industrial Irrigation) in Hastings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and diving. He loved spending time with his family, especially at the family cabin.
Jay is survived by his son, Cayden William Vetzel; mother, Dawne Vetzel; father and stepmother, Carl and Dee Vetzel; brother, Jason Cheatham; grandfather, Stanley Streit; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, niece and many dear friends.
