Isidore "Izzi" S Chavez Jr Obituary (1977

Hastings resident Isidore 'Izzi' S. Chavez Jr., 38, passed away Saturday December 10, 2016 at his home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation. Isidore S. Chavez Jr. was born November 1, 1977 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he attend school. Izzi enjoyed drawing, sketching and other numerous activities. He met his wife, Shantee Chavez, in 2008 and they were married on February 27, 2011. Izzi has four children, Alicia and Andrew of Colorado Springs, CO, Isaiah and Noah of Hastings, NE; three step children, Chandler, Rebecca, and Chelsey. He also has three grandchildren. Izzi was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer on December 16, 2015. Izzi knew his odds of survival weren't great, but he fought this aggressive cancer all the way to the end. On the morning of December 10, 2016, he began his new journey at home with his wife at his side, Izzi past on. Izzi had a heart of gold and never let his pain limit him on his last days. He would always go about his day as if there was nothing wrong. He wanted everyone to remember him for the person he was and to never forget him. He will forever be in our hearts. Izzi maintained a positive attitude throughout his fight with cancer. Staff at Mary Lanning and The Morrison Cancer Center enjoyed having Izzi there, no matter what the cancer obstacle he had with the cancer, he didn't show it, instead he was the jokester of the room. He always enjoyed making everyone laugh. He always made it well known that his wife and he had a love like no other. He was defiantly one of a kind. He will be greatly missed. Izzi is survived by his wife Shantee R. Chavez; four children, Alicia, Andrew, both of Colorado Springs, CO, Isaiah and Noah of Hastings, NE; three step children, Chelsea, of Kansas, Rebecca of Omaha, NE and Chandler of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren; mother, Maria S. Rigler; two sisters, Anna and her husband Pat, Yvonne Chavez all of Colorado Springs, CO; step brothers, Dave, Tony, and Paul; three nieces, Ashley, Tina, and Mersadys; nephew, Andrew; mother and father in law; Ronald and Joyce Lampman; sister in law; Marissa Lampman; along with several aunts, uncles, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Isidore Chavez Sr., and step father, Dave Rigler.
