Irene Buss

Irene M. Buss, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Adept Nursing & Rehab of Blue Hill.

Irene was born on December 7, 1940, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Lowell and Aileen (Guinard) Myers. She attended Hastings Public Schools and later worked as a cook at Perkins Pavilion at Good Samaritan Society in Hastings, where she remained until her retirement.

As the eldest of 14 siblings, Irene helped care for and raise her younger brothers and sisters while growing up. She had a caring spirit and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially taking walks around Lake Hastings.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Dianne Buss; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Deloris Johnson, Carol Myers, and Helen Dodds, along with their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Jim and David; and 10 siblings.
