The Isom Family, Gary, Susan, And Tiffany Isom Obituary (2013

Hastings residents Gary W. Isom, 53, Susan G. Isom, 52, and Tiffany R. Isom, 26, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2013 from an automobile accident in Clay County, Nebraska. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at North Shore Assembly of God Church, in Hastings, Nebraska. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for the care and education of their minor son and brother, Justin Isom, who was also in the accident. Details will be announced shortly. In the meantime, contributions may be direct to family members. Gary Wayne Isom was born November 11, 1960 in Detroit, MI, the son of Willard and Shirley (Bell) Isom. He graduated from Cody High School in Detroit, MI with the class of 1978. Gary married Susan Burmood on July 28, 1995 in Detroit, MI. He worked at Hornady Manufacturing in Grand Island. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and most anything that had to do with the outdoors. Gary is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Sparks and her husband Bryan of Frisco, TX; son, Justin Isom of Hastings, NE; parents, Willard and Shirley Isom of Canton, MI; brother, Greg Isom and his wife Diane of Hastings, NE; sister, Rhonda Miller and her husband Bob of Canton, MI; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ovella and George C. Bell, and Cora and Sam Isom. Susan Gail Isom was born February 26, 1962 in Grand Island, NE, the daughter of Clayton and Joan (Kikendall) Burmood. She graduated from Shelton High School in Shelton, NE, with the class of 1980 and attended College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE. She was trained as a veterinary technician. Susan married Gary Isom on July 28, 1995 in Detroit, MI. She worked at Hartland Veterinary Supply and Pharmacy in Hastings, NE. Susan enjoyed gardening, animals and cooking. Susan is survived by her son, Justin Isom of Hastings, NE; step- daughter, Stephanie Sparks and her husband Bryan of Frisco, TX; mother, Joan Carroll of Grand Island, NE; father, Clayton Burmood of Hastings, NE; two sisters, Linda Adair and her husband William of Boonville, MO, and Nancy Ragains and her husband Michael of Lebanon, MO; brother, Dean M. Burmood and his wife Carol of Tampa, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gaius and Louella Burmood, and John and Arlene Kikendall. Tiffany Renee Isom was born November 5, 1987, the daughter of Gary and Melanie (Brunson) Isom. She graduated Hebron High School in Lewisville, TX with the class of 2006 and Central Community College in Hastings, NE with the class of 2014. Tiffany was scheduled to graduate this December with a bachelor's degree from Bellevue University. She worked at Bernardo's Steak House in Hastings, NE. Tiffany enjoyed helping people, spending time with her family, and fishing. Tiffany is survived by her mother and step-father, Melanie and Hank Crosby; sister, Stephanie Sparks and her husband Bryan all of Frisco, TX; three brothers, Justin Isom of Hastings, NE, Henry Crosby, and Harrison Crosby both of Frisco, TX; "Papaw", Al Brunson of Bonham, TX; grandparents, Willard and Shirley Isom of Canton, MI; and "granny", Jerry Crosby of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her "memaw", Linda Brunson.
