Daniel B. Welty

Daniel (Dan) Bryon Welty, 72 passed away on Wednesday August 18th, 2026, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska.
Graveside services will be at 10:30am Friday August 28th, at the Kearney Cemetery with Pastor Nicholas Whitney officiating.
Dan was born to George and Leona (Matzner) Welty in Kearney Nebraska on October 2nd, 1953. Dan married Patricia Hoffman in Kearney. While living in Kearney he owned and operated Dan's Towing and Auto Repair, he also managed the Phillips 66 Gas Station. He then moved to Hastings where he was involved in many other jobs including managing a used car lot, owning a towing and recovery business and later a small engine repair business.

Dan was surgical with his hands. While he was not a doctor, he could repair anything you threw at him, a damaged car, small engines, no job was too big or small.

He is survived by his three children, Chelsey (Eric) Seamann of Nelson, Nebraska, Chadd Welty of Hastings, Nebraska, and Casy (Kate) Welty of Kearney, Nebraska; one brother, Gary (Connie) Welty of Kearney, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Ruth Welty of Kearney, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Austin Welty, Taylor Welty, Amanda Hendrickson, Mariah Hendrickson, Addelynn Welty, Kamden Welty; one great-granddaughter, Esli; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; aunts; uncles; brother, Bruce Welty who passed away August 2024; son-in-law, Mike Hendrickson; and his dog, Pepe.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designations.
